THE Professor Welshman Ncube-led MDC Bulawayo spokesperson Edwin Ndlovu has announced his resignation from politics to concentrate on studies and family.Announcing the decision on Thursday, Ndlovu said he needed time off politics to concentrate on personal projects.

“I’ve decided to resign from the MDC green and concentrate on other issues such as studying and farming. My resignation is not influenced by anyone or any political party,” he said.

Ndlovu is studying English and Communication at the Zimbabwe Open University and is in his second year.
He said he had spoken to Prof Ncube and other party leadership prior to his resignation.

“I spoke to Prof Ncube today in the morning telling him about the decision I had made. I also told my provincial chairman and the party’s national spokesperson,” Ndlovu said.

He expressed gratitude to the MDC saying it was the most organised party in the country.

“I respect the MDC leadership and its supporters for the time I spent in the party. I wish them all the best as they approach the 2018 elections,” said Ndlovu.

He did not rule out re-joining politics again saying he was still of age.

“Age is still on my side. I might bounce back but as for now I’m resigning to concentrate on my family and studies,” Ndlovu said adding that the MDC was not headed for its demise but it was the future of Zimbabwean politics.

After losing in the 2013 elections, the MDC has been losing some of its senior members with critics predicting the party’s demise.
