The 13 wanted the case struck off          the roll, saying they had no case to answer.
The suspects who include two Beitbridge Town councillors Patricia Ndlovhu and Win Mutasa are being charged with contravening a section of the Public Order and Security Act.
Other members of the group are Farai Chivobva (34), Kimberley Nkhuzotha Bhebhe (23), Eliot Maveza (46), Daniel Mkhwanazi Dambanyika (72), Wellington Chidzingwa (58), Maphios Macheka (39), Rhodes Nleya (59), Grace Runesu (54), Islam Esleam Madhosi(45), Philemon Kwinika (42) and Gibson Ndou (41).
Chivobva and Madhosi are also facing a charge of assaulting another man on their way from Harare on May 13 following a political argument.
They were also remanded to the trial date with the rest of the group on US$50 bail each.
Beitbridge resident magistrate Miss Gloria Takundwa presided over the matter.
Prosecutor Mr Jabulani Mberesi told the court that on February 22 this year Beitbridge East executive secretary Elliot Maveza applied for permission to hold a meeting at stand number 4753 at Dulibadzimu Township on the 25th of the same month.
The meeting was to be held between 10 am and 4pm.
He said two days later the police who are the regulating authority wrote to Maveza notifying him that the meeting had not been approved.
The secretary was therefore served with a prohibition order.
On 25 February the group went ahead with their meeting as scheduled at the same venue.
They, however, ran out of luck when the police received a tip-off about the illegal meeting.
Police details from the Law and Order section then went to the area where they found the meeting in progress.
Party slogans were being chan-             ted.
Minutes of the meeting, which indicated that political issues were being discussed at that particular venue were recovered from Maveza.
The suspects were arrested.
