Madzore during the launch of its election manifesto over the weekend threatening to unleash violence ahead of the harmonised elections scheduled for July 31.
Madzore’s remarks have been widely condemned as reckless in light of calls for peace ahead of the elections by President Mugabe and various other sectors of society.
Addressing a Press conference at Harvest House, the party’s headquarters, yesterday, MDC-T spokesperson Mr Douglas Mwonzora claimed that Madzore’s utterances in which he said they were prepared to shed blood were taken out of context.
Madzore was present at the Press conference although he did not take any questions from journalists.
“We want to put it on record that during his address at Rudhaka Stadium (Marondera), Madzore stated that the MDC Youth Assembly wants the securocrats to respect the will of the people when they vote in the forthcoming harmonised elections and that there should be no rigging whatsoever,” Mr Mwonzora said.
Mr Mwonzora also made claims that war veterans had abducted council candidates in the Shurugwi area and were intimidating villagers threatening them to vote Zanu-PF.
He also said that villagers were being assaulted and forced to attend rallies by soldiers along the border posts in the Mudzi and Nyanga.

However, national police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba refuted the MDC-T claims.
“We challenge them to produce the references to the police reports that they made. We have police on the ground who report to us on a day-to-day basis.
“They (MDC-T) only say these things at rallies and Press conferences but do not come to the police with the issues,” Snr Asst Comm Charamba said.
She also denied that there had been any reports of kidnappings in Shurugwi.
Police this week also warned Mr Madzore regarding his violent utterances promising to bring to book any members of society, including political party leaders, who make statements likely to forment violence.
The MDC-T has, however, been implicated in a number of cases of political violence with over 48 cases being reported across the country since January this year.
The party has also attacked journalists that do not toe its line with MDC-T leader Mr Morgan Tsvangirai threatening to deal with them if his party wins the elections.
