THE MDC-T Bulawayo provincial youth chairperson and Ward 1 councillor, Mlandu Ncube, was on Monday summoned by police over his alleged involvement in the assault of a member at the party’s congress in Harare last October.Ncube, accused of assaulting Shelton Tembo, yesterday confirmed being summoned by the police Law and Order Section at the Bulawayo Central Police Station where law enforcement agents recorded his statement.

Tembo, party sources have said, was assaulted for refusing to back Abednicho Bhebhe for the organising secretary’s position that the Nkayi South legislator eventually landed.

Ncube claimed the police investigation was a way of disturbing his operations as the party’s provincial youth chairperson.
