MDC-T supporter insults police

Masvingo Bureau
AN MDC-T supporter appeared before a Chivi magistrate’s court facing charges of undermining the authority of the police after he allegedly insulted a group of police officers by taunting them claiming they would die of hunger in the wake of the crushing defeat of his party in the just-ended elections.Innocent Mundanga (29) of Mhonde Village in Madyangove communal lands, whose father contested council elections in Chivi on an MDC-T ticket and lost, also allegedly warned the police officers of more suffering.

He allegedly told them that MDC-T leader Mr Morgan Tsvangirai would cause the closure of the country’s borders in the wake of his loss in the presidential election to President Mugabe.

Mundanga was not asked to plead when he appeared before resident magistrate Mr Francis Mapfumo who remanded him in custody to today for bail application ruling this week.
