FORMER Chitungwiza South MDC-T legislator Misheck Shoko’s application for a maintenance downward variation from US$400 has been granted.
Chitungwiza Civil Court magistrate Ms Nomsa Sabarauta granted the variation to US$100 for the upkeep of their three minor children.Earlier Shoko expressed discontentment citing that the automatic dissolution of Parliament on June 29 robbed him of income.
In his application for the variation, Shoko had argued that he was no longer able to pay the money for the upkeep of his children.
It is common knowledge that when Parliament dissolved my position was also affected and my salary ceased forthwith.
Since the dissolution, my situation has changed drastically leaving me with no means to continue paying maintenance, he said.
