Meet Harare’s Highness

busy schedule, school work and what’s like to be the teen queen. The Arundel teenager is a girl of many talents, I must say. She may be drop-dead gorgeous, but this bubbly, yet true African beauty is thoroughly enjoying her reign as Harare’s teen highness.
Very soon the gorgeous model is poised to write a piece of history for teenville as she gears up for the Miss Global International contest to be held in April in Harare. According to her, she has adjusted quite well to the new life as teen queen.  Cool Lifestyle traced the newly crowned beauty queen to have a peek of what she is up to and Swagga T (ST) had a heart to heart with Anesu Samukange (AS).
Indeed it was the “Beauty and the Swag’’.

ST: Hie Anesu, congratulations for being crowned Miss Harare Junior and compliments of the season. Briefly a quick one, tell the nation who are you?
AS: Thanks Swagga. I am Anesu Samukange. I was born on the 15th of June 1995. I am very passionate about life and I am a goal-getter. Anesu likes socialising. I am very interested in literature, poetry and writing short stories. (laughs) watch me when I submit my article to you. I am good at writing and have sent poems and compositions to Allied Arts and they received high grades too.

ST:  Simple and short. When did you start modelling?
AS: My modelling career began when I  was nine years old. I used to watch the Tyra                  Banks Show and would do the catwalk at home. I later joined a local modelling agency called Model Management Agency to pursue the career.

ST: As the Sunshine City teen queen describe the first weeks of your reign?
AS:  It has been wonderful and amazing. I can safely say I have really come into my own with regard to the role. It started normal and now people say I look familiar and gosh I say I am Miss Harare Junior.
Its schedule is hectic, but I can’t complain because I know how to balance the lifestyle.

ST: So what does being Miss Harare Junior all about and how do you balance it?
AS: It’s just the same as Miss Harare senior, all about marketing, promoting, helping and developing the town through your ideas. The only difference lies on that this is a junior beauty pageant.
You need the balance because royal management will never last unless you are born a queen. Being a teen ambassador is as important as modelling.
I put maximum effort and doing the right thing at the right time. For now it’s schooling. By the way I am an Upper Six student at Arundel Girls studying history, geography and literature. It’s a great honour representing my city.

ST: Do you carry your sash and crown to school?
AS: (laughs) hahaha . . .  I don’t carry my sash and crown to school. I keep them safe at home. It is my newest and closest companion.

ST: What has changed since winning?
AS: I am still the same person as before 21 December, 2012. My attitude has remained the same. It’s about being humble. A title cannot alter my attitude.

ST: How does your family feel about being a model?
AS: My family is very supportive from the very time I started modelling. They cheered me during the pageant and this gave me confidence. I am happy about them.

ST: What are your future plans and are you to continue with modelling?
AS: The sky is the limit for me. I am going to represent the teens at the Miss Global International in a month’s time.
I promise to deliver my best. I plan on doing charity work with children and the elderly.

ST: Thank you so much Your Highness
AS: You’re welcome Swagga T.
