SUNRISE Football Club’s 19 year- old striker, McCarthy Tembo has made a good start in the Zifa Bulawayo Metropolitan Division Three League after scoring four goals and recording one assist in the first six matches played so far.
Apart from being Sunrise’ s top goal scorer, the name McCarthy has certainly proved to be a nightmare to most of the division three defenders as he is increasingly getting known for his great dribbling and finishing skills.
Tembo attributed his good form to the hard training that he does every day.
“My great start to the season has been highly influenced by the hard work that l do as an individual. l make sure that l reserve one hour a day for my dribbling and finishing skills and this has came in handy for me, hopefully l will be able to keep up with the high standards that l have set,” he said.
Tembo went on to say that his good form was just a mere reflection of the bright career ahead of him as he is out to break records and promised fans more fireworks.
“There is no stopping, the goals that l have scored so far are just but a reflection of the career ahead of me, l don’t fancy myself staying in this league for too long hence l am promising a lot of fireworks to my fans and the Sunrise fans as a whole,” he said.
Tembo started playing competitive football this year after signing for Sunrise at the end of May. All along he has been chasing his academic career which has so far turned out to be fruitful as the youngster is set to begin his studies at a local university.
