Men’s hockey team hoping for consolation against Morocco

games during the All-Africa Olympic Hockey qualifiers at Khumalo.
Hosts Zimbabwe put up another poor performance as they lost 5-0 to Ghana on Wednesday and they will have to work hard if they are to beat the North Africans.
The Zimbabwe side remains the only team yet to score or draw from the four matches that they have played. They remain the log anchors.
They lost to Egypt 5-0 in their opening game, were clobbered 10-0 by South Africa and went down 4-0 to Kenya. Ghana dominated from the first whistle and it wasn’t a surprise when Salya Nsalbini found the opener in the 19th minute after a penalty corner.
Had it not been for some heroic saves by goalkeeper Bradley Heuer, Zimbabwe could have lost by a double-figure scoreline. Ghana, who were confident with the ball, got their second goal in the 41st minute through Matthew Damalie.
Elikem Akaba got a double with his first goal coming in the 46th minute and grabbing another one in the 62nd minute.
