Nyaradzo champions men’s health this Fathers’ Day

THIS Father’s Day, Nyaradzo Group has gone beyond symbolic gestures by stepping up in a meaningful way to honour the men who protect and nurture their families, as well as provide for them.

In a show of commitment to men’s health, the company partnered with Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals, Zimbabwe Newspapers (Zimpapers) and Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) to champion men’s health during the Men’s Health Awareness Week campaign.

The event, held last week, spotlighted the often-overlooked issue of men’s health and the urgent need to encourage early detection and treatment of prostate cancer.

Nyaradzo provided free prostate cancer screening kits for the initiative, which initially sought to test at least 100 men, but exceeded expectations, with over 140 men getting screened on the first day alone.

By Thursday last week, that number had surged to 365, with projections estimating that over 800 men will have benefited by the end of the campaign. The donation underscores Nyaradzo Group’s commitment to increasing access to quality healthcare services, especially for men, who are frequently reluctant to seek medical attention.

Prostate cancer remains one of the leading health concerns among men, and early screening plays a critical role in saving lives.

“Healthcare is a fundamental right. Our donation of prostate cancer screening kits is part of a broader commitment to encouraging men to speak up, get screened and take their health seriously. We believe that by promoting early detection, we’re not just saving lives; we’re protecting families and building healthier communities,” said Nyaradzo Life Assurance general manager Mr Patrick Mhuka.

The event was made even more memorable by a heartfelt performance from music superstar Jah Prayzah, who serenaded attendees with the track “Hubaba”, from his latest album “Ndini Mukudzeyi”.

The song is a moving ode to fatherhood. It honours the silent sacrifices and tireless efforts fathers make to protect and nurture their families, as well as providing for them.

Following his performance, the artiste spoke to the men in attendance about the importance of prioritising not just physical health, but mental well-being too.

Throughout June, and in celebration of fathers across the country, Nyaradzo Group will be running special promotions across its range of products and services, further encouraging families to prioritise both their financial and physical well-being.

The group praised healthcare professionals and men’s health advocates for their tireless efforts in addressing men’s health issues.

“As Sahwira Mukuru, we walk with families through every stage of life, not just in grief, but also in hope, preparation and wellness,” Mr Mhuka said.

He also expressed optimism about continued collaboration with Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals, and called on other stakeholders to support initiatives that promote men’s health.

This Father’s Day, Nyaradzo is not just celebrating fathers; they are protecting them because “healthier men make for stronger families and more resilient communities”.
