Messi refuses substitution

LONDON. — Lionel Messi has once more raised questions about his excessive influence at Barcelona after refusing to be substituted in this weekend’s 3-0 win over Eibar.
The Catalan side were strolling to victory over the Basque minnows when Luis Enrique was caught on camera calling out “Leo” and gesturing to the Argentine captain that he should come off — pointing towards the bench. But Messi, renowned for his desire to play every minute, refused to budge and his manager was visibly irritated as the number 10 turned and walked away, leaving youngster Munir standing on the touchline.

Neymar was instead removed for the final 14 minutes as Barca held on for a comfortable victory.
Asked about the incident post-match, Enrique said: “I trust what Messi tells me.” — The Mirror.
