Meyiwa died protecting Kelly Khumalo

Goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa’s last act before his death was a heroic one, according to provincial Community Safety MEC Sizakele Nkosi-Malubane.
The Bafana Bafana captain Meyiwa died after being shot during a robbery at singer Kelly Khumalo’s home in Vosloorus on Sunday night.

“Two guys entered the house and demanded cellphones, money and other valuables,” Nkosi-Malubane reportedly told reporters at the scene.

“Senzo tried to protect Kelly because one of the men had a gun pointed towards her.”

Khumalo has a baby girl named Thingo with the footballer.

Earlier on Monday, police offered a R150,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the killers. – Sowetan.
