Mhere collaborates with Chinhoyi crooner

Paul Pindani

Mathias Mhere has collaborated with Chinhoyi businessman and crooner, Moses Chipi, in a song titled ‘‘Corona defeated’’.

Chipi, who celebrated his 39th birthday last week at Chengetanai Old People’s Home in Hunyani Section, dedicated the song to his late mother.

Chipi told H-Metro that he was motivated by his late mother who loved singing.

“My mother used to sing and she was the one who motivated me to be adventurous.

“I am a singer in my own right. It’s just that I am always busy and don’t find ample time to be in the studio,” said Chipi.

“I only sing the gospel genre. I compose my songs, especially when I am angry.

“When my mother died, I decided to dedicate a song in remembrance and appreciation of her raising us in the Christian faith,” he said.

He said plans are in the pipeline to release an album, but his major challenge is lack of time to be in the studio. “I have an album which I recorded, but it didn’t receive enough airplay and support, so I was demotivated. Some of the songs I did in the past are Calvary, Ndamuona mumba mangu,Takatadza chiedza chadzima and Tarara pano husiku hwese,” Chipi said.
