Pint-sized gospel musician Matthias Mhere has bought his second car, a Mercedes Benz E200 valued at US$8 000. The “Favour” hitmaker is very ecstatic about it and said it is a blessing from God. “I bought my latest car on Monday at a car sale in Eastlea. I am very happy as this is what I want. I wanted this silver colour,” he said.
Mhere who also owns a Mercedes Benz C200 said that he is giving his wife the first car.
“My wife is my pillar of strength so I am giving her the first car. I love her so much and she has helped me with a lot of courage and inspiration,” he said.
He said was happy with how his latest album was appreciated.
“The album ‘Nguva yeNyasha’ received overwhelming response and I am much happier because its sales have supported me to buy this car,” he said.
Mhere said he has had a fair share of bad publicity but God keeps him strong.
“Only God can judge me because people are there to destroy what they haven’t built. I believe in God and he is our creator and I keep soldiering on”, he said.
Just like any normal person, last year he faced some ups and down.
He said was delighted sharing the stage with South African gospel sensation Winnie Mashaba at a gospel show held in Harare Gardens
He became a household name after the release of his popular song Favour.
Mhere launched his album at Jameson Hotel where dignatories such as Minister Walter Mzembi, Kuwadzana MP Nelson Chamisa and Buhera South Member of Parliament Joseph Chinotimba were in attendance.
The CD auctioned for $400.
