Controversial reggae musician Mic Inity, real name Mike Madamombe, returns home to Marondera this Friday as the reggae crooner joins forces with upcoming reggae musicians Logun and Slash T, in embarking on a maiden tour of the country.
Mic Inity has roped in the sensational upcoming reggae duo and their Roots Element band in a project dubbed “The Homecoming” as part of his maiden national tour for his album “Survivor”.
For Mic Inity, the show is a homecoming as it has been a while since he performed his home town.
In an interview with The Herald Entertainment, event organiser and promoter Stuts Angie said the mentoring of reggae musicians like Logun and Slash Tee is ongoing and more talent is to be unveiled soon after the tour.
“We are bringing MicInity’s ‘Survivor’ album launched on the 23rd of January 2015 home to Marondera before moving around Zimbabwe,” she said.
“He will be featuring the young reggae outfit of Logun and Slash Tee whom we have been mentoring for the past few months. “This maiden country tour is now well underway although it was initially scheduled for March, but failed due to glitches here and there.
“After Marondera, the artistes will travel to Mutare, Masvingo, Zvishavane, Bulawayo, Beitbridge, Chiredzi and finally Victoria Falls.”
Stutts Angie said that after touring the country, the artistes will travel across our borders for the regional leg of the tour.
“Regionally, we will be travelling to South Africa where they will perform in Johannesburg and Cape Town before going to Botswana, Namibia and Zambia,” she said.
MicInity said he was excited to be launching his maiden tour back home as it has been a long time since he performed there.
“We are excited to bring ‘Survivor’ home as it is my best project ever since I started my career in music,” he said.
“As for the mentoring process of upcoming reggae artistes, it is ongoing and some of these will feature along the way during the national tour and most of these will be unveiled during my midweek shows held at Misty’s Club in Newlands.”
Stutts Angie said a collaboration between Mic Inity and an unnamed Nigerian artiste is underway.
