THE Midlands-Matabeleland Rugby League takes a two week break to allow their players ample rest ahead of the international friendly game against Kenya on June 13 at Prince Edward High School in Harare.Western Panthers coach George Mukorera said the league would resume after the international friendly in which some of the league’s players will participate.

“The league will make way for the game against Kenya in Harare next weekend. The players will have time to rest for the next two weeks, which will give them time to practise. The international friendly will be a tough match and the players will need to prepare well in advance of the encounter,” said Mukorera.

He said the players will go into camp on Monday at Prince Edward to begin preparations for the encounter.

“The players will be travelling to Prince Edward on Monday where they will begin their training. They most definitely need the time to prepare for that game because the players must get their combinations sorted since they play in different teams. I’m impressed that almost half of the team selected consists of youngsters with a lot of talent and this will be a good learning curve for those who will get some game time,” he said.
