MIGHTY Warriors coach Rose Mugadza has called up a 25-member squad to prepare for the African women’s football qualifier against Zambia in Harare on May 25.
The team went into camp at Zifa Village on Monday.
Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela confirmed the squad is in camp ahead of their crucial tie with She-polopolo.
“Yes Mighty Warriors are in camp, they are preparing for the encounter against Zambia on May 25. A squad of 25 was called up,” said Gwesela.
Veteran coach Mugadza named eight Bulawayo-based players from Super League giants Inline Academy and New Orleans.
Inline Academy have the ever-blazing Rejoice Kampfumvuti, Rudo Neshamba, Rhoda Jongondi, Pamela Bvochora and skipper Nobuhle Majika.
New Orleans trio of Prisca Khumalo, Nokuthula Ndlovu and Pretty Mathazi. Mighty Warriors drew with their rivals South Africa 2-2 in a friendly international at Dobsonville Stadium last month after they had taken an early lead.
Rutendo Makore and Marjory Nyaumwe were the scorers in the first international assignment since Miriam Sibanda took over women’s football boss recently.
The long time in camp will give the girls more time to gel and perfect their game ahead of the crucial assignment.
