MIGHTY Warriors coach Rosemary Mugadza has named her troops who will fly the national flag in Ghana this weekend. Hwange Queens defender, Bokani Sibanda, and Moleen Murandu of Oakland Queens of Bindura, made the final 18. The team will leave the country around lunch time to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, before connecting to Accra tomorrow morning.
Mugadza has recalled most of the experienced players for the All-Africa Games qualifier set for the Accra Sports Stadium.
ZIFA spokesperson, Xolisani Gwesela, one of the few hard-working officials at the association, confirmed the travelling itinerary while speaking to the association’s official website.
“The Senior Women’s team is set to leave Harare international airport aboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight on Wednesday at 13:15 hours via Addis Ababa where they will land seven hours later (2015 hours) at Bole Airport.
“On Thursday morning, the 26 member delegation will connect to Accra, Ghana, leaving Bole Airport at 08:30 and arriving at 11:20 hours,” Gwesela said.
Battle-hardened Mighty Warriors skipper Felistas Muzongondi, Chido Dzingirai, Marjory Nyaumwe, Rufaro Machingura and Under-20 captain, Mavis Chirandu, are all in the squad.
