Mini jazz festival at Cave Affair

Tomorrow night, the Cave Affair will host Jean Masters, a versatile and energetic jazz crooner, in what promises to be a thrilling evening for jazz lovers.
She is expected to serenade fans with hits from her two albums as well as her yet to be released album which she collaborated with music icon, Oliver Mtukudzi.
Entertainment will continue on Sunday and this time two of the country’s top jazz outfits — Summer Breeze and Mbare Trio — will take jazz fans down the memory lane with some of the best renditions from jazz musicians — both living and dead.
The combination of the three jazz outfits this whole weekend will ignite a revelling mood at Cave Affair, allowing music fans to shed some of the extra kilogrammes they had gained during the just ended winter period.
The beauty about the three outfits is that they boast  amazing profiles that have catapulted them to the very top, earning them respect among music fans.
While the other two outfits have been in the industry for some time, all eyes will probably be on Jean, a young crooner, who is clawing her way up.
From the time she took over the band following the death of Joe Masters, Jean’s act has been improving with each day.
And those who know her better says she is slowly polishing her act, and has become a marvel to watch, something she has been learning fast, from the time she took up music less than two years ago.
Despite her limited experience, Jean is now able to hold solo acts and does it with so much finesse and expertise, a gift that she no doubt is endowed with.
On the other hand, Summer Breeze, comprised of session musicians with a wealth of experience that comes from their diversified backgrounds, are a joy to listen to whenever they are on stage.
Not to be outdone is Mbare Trio, whose brand has stood the test of time.
Apart from doing renditions from popular jazz connoisseurs, they also have their own compositions, done several years ago, but still sound as good.
Cave Affair spokesperson Pasi Goredema said the joint was expecting a high turnout on both shows, considering that all the three were high-profile outfits.
“We are trying to maintain while at the same time, increase our clientele that wants high quality entertainment and will gladly burn fuel to come here and enjoy themselves in a serene environment,” he said.
