Local Government and Public Works Minister Daniel Garwe has commissioned Marondera Rural District Council’s new offices and motorbikes for councilors to facilitate easy mobility as they execute their constitutional mandate.

The new offices comprise a new reception, information office, server room, 60-seater boardroom, and strong room, ancillary facilities that include the kitchen, ablution facilities, two committee rooms, chief executive officer’s office, and 10 other offices.

Construction of these offices began last year and was completed this month. Some of the old offices used by the officials were refurbished to match the modern ones commissioned today.

“This magnificent structure represents the culmination of tireless efforts, innovative design, and unwavering commitment. It is a milestone achievement.

“We gather to celebrate not just a physical space, but a hub of activity, collaboration, and progress. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to the council, its visionary management, as well as its architects and engineers who designed this infrastructure, not forgetting the skilled workers who brought it to life.”

He said the occasion marked a major milestone in the Government’s efforts to enhance public service delivery and community engagement.

“These motorbikes will facilitate councilors’ mobility, enabling them to connect with constituents more effectively,” Minister Garwe said.
