Minister Muchinguri hails President’s effort in promoting innovation

Defence Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri has hailed President Mnangagwa for his efforts in promoting innovation across

all the sectors of the economy.

In her remarks at the 13th Zimbabwe International Research Symposium in Harare, Minister Muchinguri-Kashiri said the

President’s commitment has inspired the nation.

‘Your Excellency, your dedication to our country and your tireless efforts to promote impactful research for innovation and

sustainable industrialisation inspires us all,” she said.

“Your creative innovation helps in industrial parks and our universities across the country. Additionally, you have established

specialised agencies such as the Zimbabwe National Geospatial and Space Agency (Zingsa), and the Zimbabwe Center for High

Computing Performance to spark additional development agendas.

“We are already enjoying the fruits of your sound leadership. Just last week you unveiled the amazing Harare Institute of

Technology Tram- Urban Mass Transportation System Proof of Concept which seeks to address the mass passenger

transportation challenges.”

Minister Muchinguri-Kashiri said the development, along with many other Education 5.0 outcomes, have inspired learning

institutions to conduct research that is relevant, useful, practical, and speaks to the development priority areas under National

Development Strategy 1.
