HEALTH and Child Care Minister Dr David Parirenyatwa Thursday said that he will soon meet parastatals under his ministry to get an insight into their operations. The parastatals include the National Aids Council, Health Services Board, Natpharm and regulatory authorities such as the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe.
Dr Parirenyatwa said since his appointment to the Health Ministry he and his deputy, Dr Paul Chimedza, had managed to interact with top anagement and were briefed on the situations in provinces as well as in central hospitals.
“Once all briefings are done, we will be going to the institutions throughout the country to relate what they would have told us together with what is on the ground,’’ he said. ‘‘That is our agenda, that is our programme.”
Dr Parirenyatwa said the briefings and visits would enable the ministry to take appropriate measures and proffer concrete solutions to the problems in the health sector.
“It is going to be teamwork, team health,” he said. “We had team Zanu-PF, now we have team health. We are going to work together to make sure that the most important person is the patient. That service delivery is put uppermost.”
