Minister urges value addition, tourism investment in Matabeleland South

Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Matabeleland South Province Albert Nguluvhe has the government and church are partners in development.

He said this while giving opening remarks at the Annual Convention of the Adventist-Laymen’s Services and Industries (ASI) under the Zimbabwe West Union Conference (ZWUC) chapter.

“We are delighted to be associated with this event. It might improve investment and impact business development,” he said.

The Minister said the church plays a key role in running successful businesses and industries.

He said the church is also an important block that contributes to the nation’s development under the Second Republic.

Minister Nguluvhe said the church leadership has done well in hosting the convention in the Province which is rich in investment opportunities in the seven districts.

He said the Province also is home to vast minerals and a rich agriculture sector which produces high quality livestock and crops.

He emphasised that value addition for these products remains low encouraging that more must be done by investors.

Minister Nguluvhe said tourism remains under invested in Matabeleland South and there is need for tourism products, hotels, lodges and recreational activities that can boost the sector.

He added that the Beitbridge Border post is a gateway to international markets that must continue to be exploited.

He said that the province is open for business and welcomes the church for continued business opportunities and investments.
