MINES and Mining Development Minister, Winston Chitando, and his Finance and Economic Development counterpart, Professor Mthuli Ncube, have arrived at the Bubi Gold Milling Centre where they are expected to tour the project.

Vice President Dr Constantino Chiwenga officially commissioned the project last year as part of efforts to enhance gold milling and official deliveries of the yellow metal. Bubi district is one of the gold rich areas in the country with a lot of artisanal mining activities.

The visit by the two ministers would also afford the miners opportunity to share their experiences and for Government to appreciate their challenges.

The milling centre, which is a pilot project under the Zimbabwe Mining Development Corporation (ZMDC), is expected to assist at increasing gold production by the small-scale miners.      Government through ZMDC targets to establish about 20 gold milling centres in all mining regions across the country before the end of the year.
