THE Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development has honoured the Department of Agricultural Engineering, Mechanisation and Soil Conservation staff for a stellar performance last year.
Twenty employees of the Department of Agricultural received different prizes at an awards ceremony on Tuesday.
Deputy Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries,
Water and Rural Development, Vangelis Haritatos, congratulated the winners for achieving significant milestones in their work.
“It is, indeed, a special occasion because we take this opportunity to publicly thank our staff for the many sacrifices and service that they have devoted to the Ministry and Government.
“This day is about acknowledging employees’ loyalty, commitment and dedication to the company.”
He added:
“It is interesting to note that this event is the first ever to be held in this Ministry and pioneered by the Agricultural Engineering, Mechanisation and Soil Conservation.
“So, in a sense, this department respects employees and we believe that your dedication is impeccable and is what adds to the unique culture of this Ministry.
“A Future Workplace survey conducted a few years ago found that the average person born in 1997 could expect to have 15-20 jobs over the course of their working lives.
“But, most of them are dedicated to this department, Ministry and Government as shown by your work ethic and loyalty.”
