IN a move aimed at empowering young people in the Nyanyadzi area of Chimanimani District, the Ministry of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation has embarked on a poultry project.

The project is being funded to the tune of US$21 000.

Zimbabwe Youth Council manager for Manicaland Mr Leonard Mukoko said 15 youths, comprising eight females and seven males, are currently benefiting from the programme which has already taken off.

He urged youths in Manicaland Province to seek assistance from the council.

With young people being central to economic development, they are expected to use their skills to contribute in turning around the economy as the country drives towards the attainment of Vision 2030.

In pursuit of an upper middle income economy, the National Development Strategy 1 seeks to increase youth participation in the development process of the country.
