YADAH midfielder, Nkosi Mhlanga, says they are seeking to collect more points in their battle to avoid slipping back into the drop zone.
The Miracle Boys posted another good result at the weekend when they held Black Rhinos to a 1-1 draw at Vengere in Rusape.
The midfielder was on the scoresheet with his third goal of the season.
The Miracle Boys have been one of the best performing sides, on current form, in the second half of the season. “A point away from home is not a bad result, after all,” said Mhlanga.
“Considering all teams are playing their hearts out to avoid relegation, a point away from home will always be key in the long run.
“We want to make sure we are up on the table.
“Our gameplay has improved a lot and we are enjoying a fine run. We would want to carry on like that.
“As a team, we have to utilise our chances.
“Of late, we have been creating chances, so we have to make sure we convert and fancy ourselves to collect maximum points.”
He added:
“Going into the next match, it’s a must-win game for us.
“We want to rise on the log table by all means and playing Ngezi, who are struggling to string some results, may be the perfect opportunity for us to get a win.
“Normally, in football, you can’t judge a team by its past performances and that means we are not underrating them in any way.
“I feel happy when I always score.
“It’s important, as a senior player in the team, to help the team with goals.
“The youngsters will be looking up to you and you should lead by example, in all aspects.
“I would also want to add more numbers to my statistics to reflect my commitment to the team.
“Our coach has been instrumental for the team.
“He emphasises that we play possession football but sometimes, when our opponents press us high, we switch to second balls and try to press them in their own half.”
Yadah are sitting on position 11th, with 24 points, and face Ngezi this coming weekend,
