Preparations for the Miss Curvy beauty pageant are at an advanced and models are in the boot camp ahead of the grand finale set for this Saturday at Carribea Bay Hotel. Organiser of the pageant, Mercy “Catwalk” Mushaninga said there is high morale in the camp and the models are being taught on grooming matters.
“The models have been in the boot camp since Monday and are being equipped with all necessary grooming issues to discourage them from being involved in scandalous acts which in turn affects how modelling is portrayed in the society.
“Everything we are doing is on camera and the contestants have been complying with our rules and regulations.”
Yesterday they had a workshop with Zimbabwe Tourism Authority on tourism publicity and game viewing.
Urban grooves musician Roki, Judgment Yard and BaShupi among others are billed to perform at a bush braai pre-party a day before the grand finale.
Mushaninga launched the pageant after she realised that most curvy women shied away from modelling because of the perception that the profession was for tall and slender women.
According to her, any woman who has natural curves, physical beauty with “brains” and keeps a flat tummy is eligible to enter the pageant as they do not need to have a serious modelling background.
