Miss Personality title ‘too much for me’

the title of being Miss Personality was too much for her.
She rendered her tenure as Mrs Personality a learning curve meaning that she had little or nothing to show for it.
The 22-year-old Cyclone Ree relinquishes her title in two weeks with nothing to add glamour to her name.
The pencil slim model was voted Miss Personality in February last year, but she has found herself in the middle of controversy since day one.
In May last year, Mathe was in the papers for allegedly stealing from a client after a sex orgy at a local hotel.
She was arrested and this prompted the then sponsors of the Miss Zimbabwe pageant, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) to promptly strip her of the title arguing that her unbecoming behaviour threatened the integrity of ZTA.
The Miss Zimbabwe pageant will be held on 28 February in Harare and all the models would be handing over their crowns after a year of service.
Speaking to Saturday Leisure Ree said this year she would concentrate on her studies.
“I have learnt a lot in this industry and I was a controversial character rather than a role model.”
She added: “I learnt that it (modelling) is a challenging industry and one cannot please everyone.”
Mathe said she had resolved to go back to class, as she had seen that education was the key to good life.
“I will do modelling here and there but it’s education first,” she added.
However, as Miss Personality her duty was to portray an outstanding personality and set an example to prove that models have what it takes to be respected in society and remove the myth that they are of loose morals.
Instead, Miss Personality’s showing was the worst, expected from a holder of such an esteemed title.
This alone plunged her into history books as a failed model.
As if this was not enough, the model- cum- socialite, who is often spotted at almost every high profile entertainment function in Bulawayo in her skimpy outfits and unusual hair-dos, Mathe not only brought the pageant into disrepute, but also tarnished her image and that of other models.
She also caused an unnecessary clash between ZTA boss Karikoga Kaseke and Tourism Minister Walter Mzembi, as they sought a way to amicably resolve the woes surrounding her.
Kaseke was insisting that Mathe be re-instated until investigations into her matter were finalised while the Minister said her dethronement was not handled properly.
To add salt to the wound, Mathe was back in the papers, not for stealing, but this time for her questionable personality, as she posted controversy stirring pictures on the social network site, Facebook in the arms of a female. This raised questions about her sexual orientation.
With so much having been said and done, it remains a wonder to many if she was unfortunate or probably she needs rehabilitation.
Was she unfortunate that she was among the ladies who visited the USA- based man in the hotel room and she was suspected to be the thief who stole expensive jewellery after the orgy?
Was she unfortunate that she was not re-instated after she dropped a letter at ZTA offices that she wanted to kill some of the officials and torch the building?
Is she so dull that after staying in Harare for two weeks waiting for the ZTA boss she still carried the letter with the alleged plot to torch the offices or it was a hatched plan never to re-instate her again?
Although she has vehemently denied all the claims against her throughout the year, it is only a few weeks before her reign is over and she would be back to ordinary life as an ordinary girl.
Reigning Miss Zimbabwe Malaika Mushandu did the country proud after finishing in the top 15 of the Miss World Pageant in November last year while Miss Tourism Rumbidzai Mudzengere finished as the third runner-up at the Miss Tourism International pageant in China.
Former Miss Bulawayo, who was also Miss Teen 2011, Nadia Gori, also played a great role at the Miss Tourism International Pageant in Malaysia and was in the top five of the Miss Talent category with Miss Universe Zimbabwe Lisa Morgan crowned Miss Expressive at the Miss
Tourism International beauty pageant.
As models are gearing up for the Miss Zimbabwe pageant to Mathe it is an event that she would want to forget in a hurry as it is the pageant that “destroyed” her career.
Reigning Miss Bulawayo Bongani Dhlakama said she was not affected by Cyclone Ree’s actions as she had a different life to live.
“You must understand that the world has different characters and we live our lives differently so I am not affected by her life and I have a different life altogether,” she said.
