Models who will participate at this year’s Matabeleland South provincial finals of Miss Rural and Mr Rural Zimbabwe will tonight stage their final rehearsals of what they have grasped during their boot camp at Sterling hotel from 5pm till late.

Those invited for the final rehearsals are members of the media, different pageant stakeholders, as well as notable personalities within the modelling industry.

The models will then travel tomorrow (Thursday 26 September) to Filabusi for the provincial finals to be held at Avoca Business Centre in Filabusi under Chief Maduna on 27 September.

Founder and patron of the pageant Sipho Mazibuko said the rehearsals at Sterling Hotel are to prepare and equip the models with what they should expect as they do the catwalk in front of the crowds.

“The models came to Bulawayo on Monday for the boot camp and we welcomed them at Sterling Hotel. They have been receiving massive training on how to do the catwalk and related issues from established model trainers and mentors. I am happy with what we have achieved at the boot camp and the models have grasped a lot which has led to them gaining confidence.

“Remember these kids are from the rural areas and some of them have never performed or presented themselves in front of the masses. With that in mind, we then decided to do a final rehearsal at Sterling Hotel, where they will model in front of the people.

“This exercise will boost the model’s confidence, at the same time allowing spectators to have a glimpse of what we will be presenting on the day of the provincial finals,” said Mazibuko.
