MISS University of Zimbabwe, Karen Katsande visited Mt Hampden Children’s Home as part of her charity work.
Her visit not only brought joy to the children, but also raised awareness about the challenges faced by vulnerable children.
Karen dedicated her personal time to bond with the children, offering them hope, love and encouragement. She conveyed a message of love and solidarity, reminding everyone of their inherent worth and value. Karen aims to continue demonstrating unwavering commitment in supporting vulnerable groups and shining a light on pressing social issues.
She urged others to support these children and highlighted the importance of caring for the most vulnerable members of society.
Her journey in philanthropy has been positive, as she has met people who are willing to partner with her in her charity works.
“I would like to thank everyone who came through with donations. I would also like to thank my followers who I engaged through social media and they brought clothes which were part of donations to the kids.
“I decided to spend time with the children since we are closed. It is my wish to continue demonstrating unwavering commitment in supporting vulnerable groups and shining a light on pressing social issues,” said Katsande.
By spending quality time with the children and genuinely engaging with them, she conveyed a message of love and solidarity, reminding everyone of their inherent worth and value.
“Such visits not only help to nurture and uplift the spirits of the children, but also shed light on the importance of caring for the most vulnerable members of society.
“During my reign, I chose to work under the theme ‘Create hope for the world’. I was touched by some of the stories I learnt about these children.
“I also urge those who are able to support these children to come on board,” she said.
