NEWLY crowned Miss World Zimbabwe 2026, 26-year-old pharmacist Brunette Makanaka Makanyiso, says she is ready to embrace her reign and represent Zimbabwe on the global stage at the Miss World pageant set for Vietnam in September.
Makanyiso expressed gratitude and excitement following her crowning, describing the title as both an honour and a responsibility that goes beyond beauty and recognition.
“Some journeys change your life, others allow you to change lives. I am deeply honoured to begin this new chapter as Miss World Zimbabwe,” she said.
She added that the crown represents a platform for service, advocacy and impact-driven work.
“This crown is not just a title, it is a platform to serve, advocate and amplify a cause that is deeply meaningful to me. What started as a passion is now an opportunity to reach further, speak louder and create even greater impact.”
Makanyiso also extended appreciation to those who have supported her throughout her journey, saying their encouragement continues to motivate her as she prepares for the international competition.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged and believed in me. I carry your hopes with me proudly as I represent Zimbabwe on the world stage. The purpose remains the same. The stage is bigger, the voice is stronger and the impact is just beginning,” she said.
A graduate of the Patrice Lumumba Peoples’ Friendship University in Russia, Makanyiso is actively involved in community development through the BG Foundation, which focuses on education, youth empowerment and support for vulnerable children. She has also been recognised for her volunteer work, leadership in community initiatives and participation in health awareness programmes.
She becomes Zimbabwe’s 30th representative at the Miss World pageant.
\The country has achieved seven placements in the competition’s history, with its best performance recorded by Angeline Musasiwa, who finished as 3rd Runner-Up at Miss World 1994.
