ALL is set for the Miss World Zimbabwe pageant finale tonight at the Mermaids Pool Resort in Shamva with 15 beauties from the country set to compete for the crown. Vice President Emmerson Mnanganwa will be the guest of honour at the red carpet and strictly black tie event that ZBCtv will beam live to the whole country as from 7PM.

The live broadcast will be a relief for most Zimbabweans who cannot travel to Shamva and those who cannot afford the tickets which are pegged at $300 each.

This year’s pageant which runs under the theme “Probity”, is expected to draw the who’s who of the corporate and modelling world in the country.

Whoever wins will represent the country at the Miss World Finals later this year.

Celebrated South Africa based designer Spero Villioti will showcase his elegant gowns during the evening wear section of the pageant.

Four Bulawayo beauties, Nokulunga Nyathi (Miss Professional 2015 finalist), Nicolleta Nyathi, Bionica Chipanje and Anissa Ndiriwani will be part of the 15 finalists, after they survived the Miss World Zimbabwe  two-week boot camp in Victoria Falls.

They will be battling it out with 11 other models namely Hilda Mabu, Rairo Gunguwo, Annie-Grace Mutambu, Emily Kachote, Vanessa Mbedzi (Miss Zimbabwe USA 2012), Melody Chitsungo, Blessing Mudiwa, Vanessa Mutemanesango, Melody Muza, Dapheny Kuzvidza, Chengetai Kanonhuwa and Panashe Pfende.

Before the boot-camp the models were chosen through auditions conducted by Miss Zimbabwe Trust in all the provinces in February.

Entertainment will be provided by Mugove hit maker Leonard “Karikoga” Zhakata and Trevor Dongo, who last year was a crowd favourite.

Prizes have not been officially revealed but it is reported by our sister paper the Herald that one of the sponsors KIA Motors donated a brand new car to Miss Zimbabwe Trust.
