with more sponsors, different scouting strategies and a new form of rewards for winners.
“We have partnered with ZBC who are going to be our official media partners. We are engaging all members of the Press and put an end to the hostility with the media,” she said.
Pascal Kwaramba, the executive producer of Miss Zimbabwe Trust, highlighted that they are going to be more professional in scouting for models as they will compile the footage of the process for a reality show.
“We are branching out in the country’s 10 provinces and in Chitungwiza in search of contestants that are going to battle it out on July 27. We are also in the process of indulging a mobile phone company and have set up a website so that the nation can actively participate in the selection process,” he said
Edmore Sakarombe, the trust’s executive committee member, took the time to highlight the qualities they are looking for in the contenders for the title.
“We are not sidelining anyone, but are inviting those who are serious about modelling. We are considering intellect above everything and also the correct weight and height. We are not interested in girls who take part because they have nothing better to do,” he said.
In total, there will be 13 episodes of the reality show that will be screened on ZBC’s two channels and will be aired on its four radio stations. The trust also said they are making an effort in order to select the best candidate who are capable of giving the true reflection of Zimbabwe at the international finals to be held in September.
The trust also extended an olive branch to modelling agencies and urged them to prepare their models to participate in the casting for Zimbabwe.
The winners from this year’s contest are not only getting cash prizes, as plans are in the pipeline to allocate them stands, educational scholarships among other prizes that will impact positively them in their lives.
Air Zimbabwe, Rainbow Tourism Group, NetOne, Government and various corporates are among the sponsors.
