IN a suspected murder case, a Rusape woman who had been missing for the past four days was found dead on Sunday at Patel Industrial Area close to the railway line.

The body of Cecilia Raza (35) of G13 Vengere was found in state of decomposition with her head covered by a cloth and hands tied at the back.

Manicaland acting provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the matter, saying investigations are still underway.

“On January 16 around 10am, an informant Petros Musariri (40) of Magamba Extension was coming from Mabvazuva suburb going to Vengere using a footpath that links the two locations. He discovered a body lying facing upwards and he reported at Rusape Central Police Station,” said Assistant Inspector Chinyoka.

He said when police attended the scene, they discovered that the body was naked from waist to bottom and was putting on a grey t-shirt.

“The body was conveyed to Rusape General Hospital for postmortem. Investigations so far have revealed that Raza was last seen on January 11 at around 6pm when she left home for Vengere Shopping Centre for a beer drink. She never returned home,” said Assistant Inspector Chinyoka.
