Thousands of music lovers who thronged the Harare International Conference Centre on New Year’s Eve were ushered into another year in style as several musicians performed at the event.
The event was well attended although the venue was not filled to capacity.
It was a night full of surprises, thrills excitement and happiness as people were celebrating the closure of 2105.
Dubbed “Fill up HICC”, the event had top entertainers like Winky D, Jah Prayzah, Suluman Chimbetu, Trevor Dongo, Alexio Kawara, Roki, Seh Calaz and Soul Jah Love among others that performed at the event.
Chimbetu was the first to take the stage and the musician did his best paving the way for Alexio Kawara.
The “Shaina” hitmaket managed to keep fans on the dance floor with his songs.
All problems disappeared when dancehall musician Winky D came on stage around 11pm and staged a spectacular performance that ushered people into 2016 with the song “Disappear” being the hit of the night.
People screamed and cheered on the musician who was wearing a white outfit.
He belted out most of his songs as he waited for midnight to usher merrymakers into the New Year.
The musician counted down into the New Year before belting out “Disappear”.
Gafa, as the musician is fondly known, was energetic as he taught other artisets what stage presence means.
He interacted with music lovers as they were singing along to most of his tunes.
Some of the artistes performed were Roki who only performed three songs before the crowd sent him off the stage.
The urban grooves musician received a rude awakening after he defied orders to leave the stage.
It was also a bad night for Seh Calaz and Brian Kadengu, who failed to thrill fans with their songs.
Dancehall musician King Shady made a surprise appearance at the show, singing an accapela version of one of his songs leaving fans asking for more. Jah Prayzah was next on stage.
The musician’s band who had come to warm the stage before their master, got a rude awakening again as fans were getting impatient as the musician took too long to appear.
They were forced to leave the stage as fans were throwing missiles at them.
The musician, however, came shortly after the fracas and belted out most of his hit songs.
Hit songs “Eriza”and “Chinamira” were on his play list that managed to keep fans on the dancing floor.
