Mixed bag on the market

The six-track album, produced by Sha Mukimu and Bertz Mtengwa, starts off with a bustling praise and worship song “Gore Reminana” which praises God’s work.
If he improves on the quality of his beat, then the gospel world will have something to marvel at in the near future.
Artwell “Tsaona” FOKI — Ndezva Mbuya Nehanda
Inspired by Chimurenga struggles Cde Foki has a new eight-track album. Songs to watch out for include what has seemed to be an anthem at football matches called “Ndezva Mbuya Nehanda” where he claims that Zimbabwe’s rich mineral resources came from the liberation struggle’s heroine.
Patriotism is the key to his album as the song “Ndinogara Pano” chants his allegiance to his motherland. Foki must sharpen his vocal clarity in order to gain consistency in the music genre dominated by veterans in the likes of Cde Chinx.
Shumirai Marange — Zvinhu Zvinoshanduka — Izinto Ziyaphenduka
In her eight-track album Shumirai dishes a rich deliverance message with her melodious voice. Despite her vocal talent Shumirai’s album exposes lack of dynamism in the production of Zimbabwean gospel music.
The monotonous gospel beats that have made Zimbabweans prefer both Zambian and South African gospel music accompany the album. Among the songs there is “Ndomutenda”, “Ishe Wemba Ino” and the “Zvinhu Zvinoshanduka” on which she urges people to appreciate each other.
Tehn Diamond — SOTG 3: The Pursuit of
Amazing
He is one of the most underrated but talented hip-hop artistes whose music is of international quality. Born Tendai Nguni, Tehn has released the last of the SOTG series called the “Pursuit of Amazing” currently receiving heavy rotation on DStv’s Channel O. Apparently SOTG stands for Student of the Game.
Featured on the 18-track album is Take 5, Stunner, Alkaname, MC Chita, Simba Tagz and others.
The Nama award winner for Outstanding Video says the album is meant for not only hip-hop heads but those who love good music.
