VISUAL artist, Carlton Chimutuwah, who specialises in mixed media, says he walks door-to-door collecting cans and old clothes for his artwork.
He said:
“I have a storeroom full of collected materials, usually I use cloth, jeans and other materials which I’m still experimenting with.
“Currently my theme is tribalism and totemism and I get inspiration from my family lineage which is Tsoko.
“Art also runs in the family.
“My brother Alvin Chimutuwah is my biggest inspiration.
“People tend to forget that there are other reliable sources of energy which we used to use back.
“l have an artwork titled ‘Chihera Magetsi Aenda Rambi Harina Paraffin’ which demonstrates the use of paraffin lamps.”
He says his artwork mainly focuses on keeping the environment clean.
