Former Maritzburg United and AmaZulu defender David Mkandawire is eager to get to work after coming through a tough spell and gaining coaching qualifications.
Mkandawire hit hard times last year and was spotted begging on the streets around Kempton Park, but has since dusted himself off and acquired a Safa D license thanks to a South African Football Players Union bursary.
Mkandawire is grateful to those who helped him get back on his feet.
a?Words are not enough to express myself and to thank everyone who supported me during difficult times,a? Mkandawire tells KickOff.com.
a?I want to say thank you to everyone from the bottom of my heart. I am now back on my feet. I am ready to get back to football. I have now acquired the SAFA D licence and am ready to work anywhere. I am ready to work even for the big teams in the PSL, Pirates, Chiefs.
a?I just want to get back to the game I love so much. I have the passion, skill and qualifications and the only thing I need now is a chance.a?
