GOSPEL musician Everton Mlalazi is today expected to bring the house down when he performs at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos, Nigeria.
Mlalazi is among top worship singers who have been invited to be part of the Sinach and Friends Christmas Concert, which starts at 5pm.
The show is running under the theme “The Love Feast”.
The Vine Choir director will share the stage with fellow award-winning gospel singers like Ayo Vincent (Nigeria), Onyeka Onwenu (Nigeria), Ebenezer Obey (Nigeria), Chris Shalom (Nigeria), Joe Praize (Nigeria), Frank Edwards (Nigeria), Adlan Cruz (Puerto Rico), Todd Dulaney (United States) and Da’dra Greathouse (US).
In an interview with The Sunday Mail Society, ahead of the show, Mlalazi said he was ready to minister through music.
Exposure to similar events, he reckons, has sharpened his act.
“Performing in Nigeria provides us with an opportunity to break into West Africa with Zimbabwean music. I really hope it is the beginning of more collaborative concerts between the two countries,” said Mlalazi.
“I met Sinach when we both performed at her concert early this year at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) and since then we have been in touch through Pastor Joseph, her husband. We plan more collaborative concerts in the future.”
Mlalazi continues to attract regional attention, which has created several opportunities for him to rub shoulders with international acts.
The Vine Choir recently left worshipers spellbound when it delivered a pulsating and well-coordinated show at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.
The Mzansi concert featured South African artistes that include the Grammy Award winner Soweto Gospel Choir, Benjamin Dube, Ntonkozo Mbambo, Mahalia Buchanan, Xolly Mncwango and Khaya Mthetwa.
Prior to this show, the high-flying and award-winning artiste had performed at the two-day FNB WOW Festival in Lusaka, Zambia, alongside Travis Greene.
“I appreciate, firstly, the support from my local fans. It really encourages us to work hard. We continue to thank God for the opportunities to break into new markets.
“We believe in excellence, especially when doing God’s work. We cannot only aim for perfection when doing our own things but also when doing God’s work,” he said.
The “Pfugama Unamate” hitmaker is expected to perform new tracks from his forthcoming album during the Christmas concert.
“I wish to tell my fans that we have just completed recording for a new album, which will be released at the beginning of next year. We will release one song this December and we are excited about it.”
Sinach is seemingly upbeat about the event.
“It is the holiday season and Christmas is around the corner!
“What an amazing year it has been and we want to round it up by celebrating the goodness of God and the gift that is our Lord Jesus Christ,” she wrote about the show.
Sinach has ministered to millions of people across the globe in a career spanning over two decades.
Some of her touching songs are: “Done It Again”, “The Name of Jesus”, “Great Are You Lord”, “All I See Is You” and “Nothing is Impossible”.
