ZAMBIA didn’t just host a concert, it experienced a gospel takeover.

Everton Mlalazi chose Zambia as the first international stop of his Great God Tour.

And, what unfolded on the night left both fans and the artist himself utterly shaken — in the best way possible. From the opening moments, it was clear this was no ordinary gospel show.

The venue pulsed with expectation as voices rose in spontaneous worship and, by the time Mlalazi finally stepped onto the stage, Zambia had already declared: “This is our music too.”

What stunned the Zimbabwean gospel heavyweight were the jaw-dropping sing-alongs.

Zambian fans didn’t just know his old worship anthems, they confidently sang along to songs from his new album. “I am overwhelmed,” Mlalazi told the crowd. “I expected appreciation, but I didn’t expect Zambia to sing like this. You are even singing the new songs.

“This has shocked me and humbled me deeply. It shows that the music has truly crossed borders.”

Before the headline act took centre stage, the night had already been set ablaze by a formidable supporting line-up that proved they were more than just warm-up acts they had a very good day in the office.

Zambia’s Gods Envoy kicked off proceedings with an explosive praise session that jolted the audience into life, while Asante followed with a smooth, spirit-filled performance that kept the worship atmosphere soaring.

Zimbabwean vocal sensation Vocal Base delivered flawless harmonies and commanding stage presence. By the time the main act appeared, the crowd was already fully warmed up, spiritually charged and ready. The unity in the venue was unmistakable, and fans were quick to describe what they had witnessed.Daniel Mwila, who attended the show, revealed that his connection to Mlalazi’s music dates back several years. “We first heard about Everton Mlalazi around 2022 to 2023, especially when Travis Greene came to perform,” Mwila said.

“People kept mentioning Mlalazi, we searched for his music, and we fell in love. Seeing him live now just confirms why his name kept coming up.”
