SOUTH Africa-based Hip Hop sensation Mlue Jay ended 2025 on a high note after winning two awards at the Pumula Royal Arts Community Awards (Praca) that were held on December 20.
The artiste who was nominated for a record six times, won in the Best Male and Best Album for his full-length project “Umsaphazi.”

Mlue Jay said he is on cloud nine for increasing his award catalogue.
“I have won a Praca before as I scooped Best Hip-Hop Artiste in 2024. With these two latest gongs, I am so grateful to God and l appreciate all the support that my music is receiving back home, something which shows my attachment with my roots,” he said.
Quizzed on his itenary during the festive, he said, “I had a beautiful festive and I spent most of it here at home (Zimbabwe). I started in Harare where I went for the Zim Hip-Hop Awards. I was nominated for Best Diaspora at the awards. I then went to Bulawayo and attended beautiful events such as Fill Up The Sitting Room, where I perfomed alongside Noluntu J.
“I then performed at the Bulawayo Arts Awards (BAAs) where I was also nominated for Best Hip-Hop Artiste. Fun was had, and Bulawayo is really embracing the youthful music more than before, something we love to see,” said Mlue Jay.
