The focus of the show is to build sustainable business ideas that respond to Zimbabwe’s economic climate.
“The show is not about the prize money but is about the business ideas, about the passion to get into business and the strength to last and stay in business.
“It is about the relevance of the business, how it can be applied within Zimbabwe’s economic context and most importantly, how it addresses the bottom line of business and how it can generate money. It is about survival,” said Nigel Chanakira, the chief mentor in this year’s edition.
According to the show’s producers, My Own Boss   seeks to create opportunities and mould entrepreneurs not only for the corporate world but also emphasises on diversity of entrepreneurial avenues.
“My Own Boss realises that there are different types of entrepreneurs,” said Hwengwere. The winner of the show will be crowned on November 17, at Celebration Centre and will walk away with US$25 000.
