AT least 15 models will be vying for the title of Miss Brace 2023, a pageant whose mission is to fight drugs and dangerous substances among young people in Goromonzi.
The event, which will be held on Saturday, is running under the theme, ‘No To Consumption Of Drugs’.
Organiser of the event, Wilbert Rukato of Sizefour Agency, says girls need to be conscientised about the effects of drugs.
“The idea is to say no to the consumption of drugs and dangerous substances since most of the risky behaviours are done after taking drugs.
“We are taking the message to the peri-urban area of Goromonzi and the models are drawn from Domboshava, Ruwa, Goromonzi, Chitungwiza, and Harare.

“We want the girls to take part in such events and they are role models and there will be also some titles to this initiative.
“Afro fusion artist Mbeu and his full band will provide entertainment together with resident DJs,” said Rukato. Miss Brace 2023 marks the return to grassroots pageantry.
“Models such as Greatmore Chatya, Michelle Wallace and Nokuthula Mbuli are all products of the grass roots pageantry and scouting process.
“The models will be under the stewardship of coach Will and all activities will be at the venue, Brace Night Club.”
Brand ambassador roles and cash prizes will be offered.
