EXTREMELY talented six-member Afro-fusion group and arguably the most internationally travelled group in Zimbabwe, Mokoomba will tonight (Friday) perform in Mutare at Courtauld Theatre (FC Lounge) for the first time.
The group usually holds its gigs in European and Asian countries.
Hailing from Victoria Falls, the group sings in a number of languages, including English, Luvale, Tonga, Nyanja, Ndebele and Shona.
The Tonga outfit, whose unique and distinct sound has taken the world stage by storm, will be supported by Afro-Jazz diva, Rutendo Jackie, Mbira ensembles, Ntswai Ntswai and WaCharie as well as Mozambican crooner, Baba Matezo, who is currently in Zimbabwe to promote his brand.
Club Mandisa
Talented Mbira artiste, Tatenda Gomwe, fondly known as Gushungo, is back at the entertainment joint this weekend for a double date with his fans.
He will perform at the venue this weekend. The shows start at 8pm.
Chitsa Bar
Ragga Manyika outfit, Assegai Crew, which had sunk into oblivion since late last year is back with their maiden performance at the spacious bar tomorrow.
The crew will feature its one and only surviving member and drummer, Silas, who is still in the group.
Local musician, Samanyanga, will also perform on the same day.
Micasa
The upmarket joint re-introduces the packed week-long entertainment itinerary which includes MaRasta Wednesday, Ladies and Karaoke Thursday, Old Skool Fridays and New Skool Saturdays.
The sessions will be led by resident deejays, Frazer and Terminator, while Steve Chikotie headlines every Sunday’s jazz night.
Madziro
The open air joint hosts families and fun lovers for a weekend pleasure outing which will be led DJ Candyman, this and every Saturday.
The outdoor entertainment consists of jumping castles, booze and braaing.
