Angela Mudiwa (48), a teacher at St Mary’s Primary School and her son, Marshal Simbarashe Mudiwa (26) were not formally charged when they appeared before magistrate Mr Don Ndirowei on Monday. They were remanded to April 26 on US$50 bail each. Prosecutor Ms Vernancia Mtake alleges that sometime in June 2008, Shamiso Chiseko (42) assigned her cousin Kudakwashe Chipazure to look for a house to buy on her behalf.
On August 7, Chipazure went to Chitungwiza Municipality where he was advised that the pair was selling a house, the State says. Chipazure reportedly went to Number 50 Nzungu Road, Zengeza 1 where he met them.
The pair allegedly confirmed that they were selling the house for US$9 000. The parties went to a lawyer and drafted an agreement of sale, it is alleged. Chipazure paid the US$9 000 in cash for the house, it is alleged.
On November 4, Chiseko reportedly returned from Botswana where she was based but could not locate the pair for change of ownership. In May 2009, the two went on to sell the same house to a couple despite the fact they had sold the same house to Chiseko, the State alleges. – CR.
