Motor Action………………………………………. 0MONOMOTAPA stormed into the semi-finals of the BancABC Sup8r Cup when they scored a late goal at Gibbo Stadium which sent Motor Action packing in Triangle yesterday.

Agrippa Murimba punished the Mighty Bulls who deemed him excess baggage and was a free transfer acquisition by Monomotapa.
“I had the last laugh today. Rosen (Eric) told me I no longer had a place in his team and he chased me after I got injured and he is now feeling the pain of abandoning me while I am celebrating.

I am going to do my best because I need to challenge for the Golden Boot. I want to praise the Almighty God because he is doing wonders for me and today (yesterday) has been my moment of glory because I have been named  man-of-the-match and I am going to share the money with my  teammates because I won  the award as a result of teamwork,” said the soft-spoken striker.

The striker scored last week in their 2-1 over the Mighty Bulls in a league match and yesterday’s goal was the third of the season.
With both teams seemingly heading for a penalty shootout Murimba won the ball on the left and went past three Motor Action defenders and with Ronald Chitiyo unmarked in the box and anticipating a pass he released a volley that beat veteran goalkeeper Marlon Jani.

Motor Action could have drawn first blood in the 25th minute when the dangerous Yves Ebabali won possession outside the box but goalkeeper Jonathan Zvaita made a brilliant save when he blocked his effort for a corner.

After the miss Nelson Melson got the chance to find the opener for Monoz  when he surged into the Bulls box from the right but he was a shade too slow  to shoot at goal allowing the hardworking Motor Action defender, Godfrey Moyo to clear.

Monoz who had their players on industrial action over finances last week, could have settled matters in the 82nd minute.
Enterprising midfielder Chitiyo won possession on the left and centred for substitute Hamilton Masumbuko who was unmarked in the six-yard box but the striker shot weakly at goal allowing Jani to save his effort with ease.

Nkululeko Dlamini the acting Monomotapa coach was very happy with the result. “It was a very sweet victory for us since my guys played very well despite the fact that most of them are youngsters. We went through a bad spell during the season and this is the turn around.

“I am now looking forward to meeting FC Platinum and we are motivated because there is money at stake which on its own motivates my players,” he said.

Joey Antipas the Bulls coach said his team tried to beat Monomotapa but it was not their day. “We are going to add more players when the window opens so that we have depth,” he said.
