MONOMOTAPA chairman Joseph Mukoki believes some clubs that appear keen to engage their players are negotiating in bad faith in the hope of taking their players for a song.
Mukoki’s club still owe a number of players salaries from last season but he said that does not make their contracts with players null and void.
The former Premiership champions have been accused of sabotaging Russell Madamombe’s intentions to extend his stay at Dynamos.
On Wednesday, leftback Hillary Mugoniwa was crying foul that Monomotapa were not giving him the greenlight to join his former coach Biggie Zuze at Triangle. Triangle are also hoping to sign Jimmy Tigere, Charles Rukwanha, Praise Tonha and Marvellous Mukumba from the former Premiership outfit.“
Triangle came and said they wanted the player and we negotiated. We came to an agreement and they promised to come back to meet their side of the bargain, only to learn that the player is now seeking a clearance on the basis that we owe him,” said Mukoki. “I just wonder why they came to negotiate with us, only to drag their feet later. We are financially unstable but teams should not take our situation and use it to their advantage.
