Now winless in their last three games, Zuze feels it is time they start winning games to improve their log standings as they hope to end the first half of the season in the top eight.
Monoz have been a shadow of themselves and are currently 10th on the table and are trailing log leaders Highlanders by a massive 11 points.
Zuze said he was happy with his side’s character after holding Hwange to a goalless draw away at the Colliery in the match that followed hard in the heels of a heavy 5-2 drubbing at home by Highlanders.
Momomotapa have a proud record against Makepekepe having last lost a match to the Green Machine in August 2009 when South Africa-based Nyasha Mushekwi fired a hattrick in the 4-3 defeat.
Zuze said they are aware of the threat posed by CAPS United.
“CAPS United are one of the big teams in Zimbabwe. They have players and a coach who were at Monomotapa last season and are well versed with our culture of football but we will not take that as a big factor.
“As a club we are concerned with winning games at this moment and we are putting in a lot of hard work for that to happen.
“Right now we are coming from a draw at Hwange and I think it was a good result for my youngsters.
“Actually I am happy with the way we performed in that game since we had mainly the youngsters in the team and they responded well after that heavy defeat by Highlanders.
“Now we need to step up and come out of our shell because we have been playing well but the results haven’t been showing.
“I have told my players that when playing against the big teams like CAPS United that’s the moment to raise the profile and shine. It’s important to continue psyching them up and we will be working on that,” said Zuze.
Kuda Musharu and Ronald Chityo were in Malawi with the national team for an international friendly that ended in 1-1 draw.
“Definitely they are key players and very influential members of the team but we have registered 30 players with the PSL whom we feel have the capability to bring results if thrown into the fray.
“If anything happens to a particular player, those available should be able to do the job.
“So the return of the likes of Chitiyo and Musharu is actually is actually a boost, but not that we were handicapped in their absence,” said Zuze.
Goalkeeper Jonathan Zvaita (wrist) and Obey Mwerahari (ankle) had light training when the team resumed preparations yesterday and are expected to make full recovery as the week progress.
