GREED and Desire’s Morakile Selebogo, on Saturday caused a stir at Club Eden in Bulawayo when he made a cameo appearance with avid followers to the South African soapie flocking to take pictures with him. In the soapie, Morakile (Matli Mohapeloa) was banished from the Makhetha’s homestead after he was framed for killing his father Bonngoe by his brother Maru, who strangled him in the hospital.
Morakile was driven out without a penny to his name and sought refuge at his mother’s house the last time the soapie was aired. Perhaps, as a way to “hide” from his pursuers, Morakile skipped the border and found himself in Bulawayo. On the weekend Club Eden hosted Morakile and he tried to keep a low key in the nightspot when he entered at 10PM on Saturday night.
However, it only took one lady to spot him from the regulars as he was seated at the Casino Bar with Zimbabwe television personality Arthur Evans, just adjacent to Club Eden. When they called him out Morakile, came to them and they quickly took out their phones and started taking pictures.
Some posted them on social media sharing with their friends. Evans said Morakile was in the country to shoot some scenes for his show. “I have a show called the Arthur C Evans Show where I interview many celebrities, whether Zimbabwean or South Africa. Matli was here to do one of those and it went well,” said Evans.
Although Evans did not shed more light on when the show will air, Evans said they took Morakile to Matopos for a tour Silozwe Village on Saturday afternoon. Isidingo’s Sechaba, real name Motlatsi Mafatshe and fellow Greed and Desire actor Maru Makhetha real name Tato Molamu, have also been interviewed by Evans for his show. The new entertainment and lifestyle show will be produced by All Van Good Production’s Trevor Ncube.
